I have known Kevin and Angi Sullivan for over 30 years. We first met when my children were campers and throughout the years I have had the privilege of returning to camp as a nurse volunteer.

One of my first encounters was being part of the weekly Sunday morning staff meeting. I couldn't help but notice how engaged the staff was as Kevin spoke. Throughout the week the professionalism and care they showed was evident in every interaction I had. This proved to be true, each and every week, no exception.

I have witnessed first hand, the improvements and refinement of camp grounds, staff development, and opportunities for those who love camp, to come back and volunteer .

The Inclusivity program impressed me most because of how it opened doors for kids who otherwise wouldn't be able to participate in an overnight camp experience .

Anyone who has ever experienced time at CYO Camp Rancho Framasa can't help but feel the

"Family" atmosphere, both created and shared by Kevin and Angi; and believe me, that impact lasts a lifetime

Angi has the incredible gift of fostering inclusivity, and she has used that gift over and over again in her work as a co-director at CYO Camp. In my time as a counselor, counselor manager, and program staff during the school year, Angi was always there encouraging me to see the ability and gifts in every person I encountered at camp, especially those with exceptional needs. She helped to nurture in me a love for acceptance and finding ways to make all things accessible to people of all abilities, which is one of the reasons I am now a Resource Teacher within the Archdioceses.

I first met Kevin over 40 years ago at CYO Camp in Nashville, Indiana. I’ve worked with him as a fellow counselor, Board director, Development Committee member, and donor. I’ve seen first-hand his transformational work in building a dynamic camping program enabling every camper and staffer to thrive. Whether it’s a traditional summer experience or a school retreat in the year-round program, Kevin consistently and passionately commits to every aspect of the camping experience - a safe and clean facility, well trained and committed staffers, and all-inclusive outdoor education activities. Kevin work is performed with quality and care ensuring an experience that campers and leaders want to repeat!--Tim George

My daughter Ali has attended CYO Camp for over 20 years. She started as an overnight camper for two nights a week before moving up to a full week. Ali currently is on staff as a camp assistant and stays 5 nights per week/session. This is amazing, especially considering that Ali has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ali was hesitant to sleep away from home, however thanks to the incredible support team Angi had compiled as well as strategies Ali became a successful overnight camper! Angi arranged to have camp counselors who were working towards degrees or careers in special education or in one of the therapy programs to work directly with Ali. This was mutually beneficial for all participants. Fast forward 12-13 years later, Angi has launched a program for young adult campers who love being at camp, to return and work in a paid position as a camp assistant. This is huge! As a parent of a child with challenges, what I valued was Angi’s interview process. Angi treated this like process like a typical job interview with the usual expectations. Ali was expected to arrive for the camp interview on time, dressed professionally, and have a printed resume (if possible) & have a list of questions to ask the interviewer. Angi’s approach has remained with me throughout the years. I appreciated that Angi had a level of expectation but was able & willing to modify it yet still have Ali accountable & preparing her for life after camp.
